From Industry Experience to Firm Founding
Darryl began his career as a Regional Manager for a large petroleum company, where he supported retail site selection and discovered a passion for real estate. After a decade owning a liquor store in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, his passion drew him to work for a large industrial real estate firm in Milwaukee for 10 years.
In April of 1989, after seeing the need for a physical commercial real estate office in Waukesha County, Judson & Associates, s.c. was born.
December 1989
Mike Judson graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and began looking for a job. During his time at Madison, he had already completed the required real estate courses and passed the licensing exam.
Upon graduation, Mike worked part-time in a factory to earn money and part-time learning the ropes in real estate under Darryl’s mentorship.
1994 The Great Blaze
On a Friday night, a passersby noticed smoke. The office building was on fire. Mike, who lived close by, hurried to the scene and watched as the professionals battled the blaze.
The building was deemed a total loss, and all hands were on deck to clean up and save what they could. Shortly thereafter, a new home for Judson and Associates, s.c. was found at 1285 Sunnyridge Road in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
1999
Mike is promoted to President, while Darryl focuses on mentorship, personal transactions, and spending more time with family out of state.
2006
Darryl retires fully, and Mike purchases the business. Mike also received the Business Journal’s highly sought-after 40 Under 40 award.
2013
Matt Judson obtains his real estate license while attending the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and starts working at Judson and Associates, s.c. as an intern during the summers.
That first summer, Matt showed his enthusiasm for the industry and his hard work cold calling, successfully identifying his first buyer for a multi-million-dollar listing in Menomonee Falls.
2016
Matt graduates from UW–La Crosse with a degree in Business Management and joins Judson and Associates, s.c. full-time.
2019
The company moves to a new, updated office at 2831 N. Grandview Boulevard, Suite 222, in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. The new location and modern vibe allowed the company to grow, strengthened the team's collaborative culture, and provided greater accessibility for clients with easy access to I-94.
2024
Continuing the family legacy, Matt is promoted to President and begins the process of purchasing the company, while Mike gradually assumes a role similar to the one his father held.
